About the Employer: The business (ABN 47 657 814 849) is an Australian healthcare recruitment and technology business connecting doctors and nurses with flexible locum opportunities across Australia.

Our platform supports job matching, credential management, placements and related recruitment processes. They are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain the software systems supporting our healthcare recruitment platform. Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web-based applications using TypeScript, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Firebase, and Gulp.
- Build and maintain custom APIs while integrating third-party platforms and healthcare systems, including OpenAI API, Algolia (for fast search), SerpAPI, EVO VMS (Healthcare System), Xero, Twilio (SMS/Voice), Slack API, Gmail API, Meta Conversions API (CAPI), Instagram Graph API and Mailtrap.




- Apply test-driven development throughout the software lifecycle and develop automated unit, integration and end-to-end tests using Jest, the Firebase emulator suite and Cypress.
- Implement and maintain Instagram Webhooks to process real-time event notifications, messaging triggers, and interaction updates.
- Investigate and resolve software defects, system errors and performance issues.
- Analyse business and operational requirements from internal administrators and stakeholders, translating them into technical requirements and maintainable software solutions.
- Participate in software architecture, code reviews and technical planning.
- Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
- Support system security, data privacy, reliability and platform performance.
- Collaborate with product, recruitment and business teams to improve the user experience.
- Assist with software releases, monitoring and ongoing platform improvement.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience or working familiarity with healthcare recruitment processes, hospital workforce structures, hierarchy (e.g., consultants, registrars, nurse unit managers),



and clinical terminology to translate role-specific skills and credentialing needs into technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of up-to-date programming languages, frameworks and development practices.
- Experience developing web applications, APIs and database-driven systems.
- Understanding of cloud computing, software security and version control.
- Experience with automated testing, deployment and monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
