Perth Waldorf School invites applications for a Community Engagement and Events Coordinator (Full-time preferred however applications for part-time will be considered)
The Perth Waldorf School teaches students from Kindergarten to Class 12 according to the indications of Rudolf Steiner. Our campus in Bibra Lake is thriving, and we are in the process of expanding and growing our new campus in the Perth Hills at Parkerville Steiner College. We are seeking a dynamic and creative person to join our school and help make it more awesome.
The Role:

We invite applications for the full-time position of Community Engagement and Events Coordinator. This key role will enhance the vibrancy of our school community by overseeing the coordination of festivals, events, and community engagement initiatives. You will lead a energetic team in creating and managing events that align with the school's ethos and foster meaningful connections across our whole school.
Position Details:
- Full-time, on-site role with responsibilities distributed across event coordination, team management, and community engagement.
- Flexibility is required to meet the dynamic needs of festivals and events, with periods of increased activity balanced with quieter times. An ability and willingness to do physical tasks like unloading catering and shifting tables is vital.
Responsibilities:
- Event Coordination:
Oversee the smooth running of termly festivals and key events – there are many and we are growing!
- Community Engagement:
Foster a whole-of-school approach to activities and events,
collaborating across departments to nurture strong connections within the school community – you must be a people person but also have the ability to delegate and facilitate small group meetings!
- Team Leadership:
Lead and manage the Community Engagement Team, including event assistants and social media support, ensuring effective coordination of logistics, volunteer efforts, and timely communication with parents and the broader community.
- Event Logistics & Operations:
Oversee equipment requisitions, setup, and pack-down for events, ensuring smooth execution and a positive conclusion.
- Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with teachers, faculty heads, and the FGM team to ensure successful planning and execution of all events, as well as provide advice and consultation to staff and parents around community-related activities.
- Marketing & Communication:
Ensure that school branding and messaging are integrated into events and activities, coordinating with the Marketing and Content Coordinator to promote initiatives through social media and other channels. Let’s not hide our light under a bushel!
- Community Care & Well-being:
Promote the sense of belonging and care across the school, reinforcing community engagement, and fostering strong relationships between families, staff, and students. The ability to maintain your equanimity is highly valued.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience coordinating events and collaborating with teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitating skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and volunteers.
- Commitment to the ethos of the school and Steiner education – you will foster a caring and engaged school community.
- Ability to delegate tasks and maintain your boundaries while at the same time being willing to step into any task at any time to get the job done. A ‘can do’ attitude is vital.
- Knowledge of marketing and the ability to use social media is an advantage but it will be taught if you’re a little ‘old school’.
