About the Role
Based in our Muswellbrook office, this is a full-time permanent opportunity. The role will also work with Community Participation Officers across our branches to deliver events and initiatives.

As a Community Participation Officer, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering initiatives that enhance tenant engagement, social inclusion, community participation and sustainability. Working closely with tenants, community organisations, service providers and internal teams, you'll help create opportunities that improve social and economic outcomes while supporting thriving, connected communities.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver events, activities and initiatives that promote tenant engagement, wellbeing and social inclusion
- Support the delivery of the Grow A Star Scholarship Program




- Support social and environmental sustainability through education and initiatives that address cost of living, energy efficiency, waste, disaster preparedness and other issues impacting our tenants
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, service providers and other stakeholders
- Facilitate tenant participation through consultations, surveys, meetings and Tenant Reference Groups
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities for targeted initiatives and programs
- Assist with the development of tenant-focused communications, including newsletters, website content and social media stories
- Seek and support grant funding opportunities to enhance community participation initiatives
- Represent Home in Place at community events, sector forums and stakeholder meetings
- Maintain accurate records, reports and project documentation to monitor outcomes and measure success

You Will Bring

- Qualifications and/or relevant experience in Community Development, Human Services or a related field
- Experience delivering community engagement, participation or wellbeing initiatives
- Robust interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs
- Experience coordinating projects, events or community programs
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience preparing reports, maintaining records and using data to improve outcomes




- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems
- Commitment to working with our tenants to improve social and economic outcomes

Knowledge of the social housing sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Essential Requirements

- Current unrestricted Driver Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- Ability to travel within the region as required
