Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Regional Health and Community Services (Katungul) is a community-controlled organisation dedicated to improving the health, wellbeing and social outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Bega Valley Shire and Eurobodalla Shire regions of NSW. About the role

This is a full time fixed term to 30 June 2031 position based in Bega, NSW in the Katungul Women’s Healing Centre.

After hours on call work and morning, day and afternoon/evening shifts on a rotating roster is required.

The Case Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive, trauma-informed, culturally safe and client-centred case management services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children experiencing, escaping from, or recovering from domestic and family violence, homelessness, crisis and associated social and wellbeing challenges.

The role works alongside women and children to strengthen safety, stability, healing and wellbeing while supporting each woman’s right to exercise choice, control and self-determination in decisions affecting her life.

Case management will be strengths-based and focused on building individual and family capacity, recognising the existing knowledge, strengths, cultural connections and aspirations of each client. Rather than determining outcomes for clients, the Case Manager supports women to identify what meaningful change looks like for them and to develop practical pathways towards goals designed by them, for them.

Recognising children as clients in their own right, the Case Manager works with women and children to develop and implement individualised case plans that respond to their unique needs,



strengths, culture, circumstances and goals.

*In recognition of the gendered nature of domestic and family violence, Katungul enforces an all-female staffing policy which maximises the safety of women who are accessing the service. Being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

What you'll be doing

· Provide case management and support services to women and children including advocacy, referrals and liaison with other community organisations.

· Undertake comprehensive intake, needs and risk assessments and work collaboratively with clients to develop individualised safety and case plans.

· Organise and facilitate group activities, workshops and events that encourage participation and positive social interaction.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with local services and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated, holistic support.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of new initiatives, programs and strategies to address the evolving needs of the women and children.

· Maintain detailed case notes, data collection and reporting to track progress and outcomes.

What we're looking for

· Qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Welfare, Human Services, Psychology, Aboriginal Health or another relevant discipline, or demonstrated relevant experience and willingness to undertake further professional development/qualification.

· Demonstrated experience supporting women, children and/or families experiencing domestic and family violence, homelessness, crisis or complex social needs.





· Demonstrated understanding and experience working in a trauma-informed practice, risk assessment and safety planning.

· Demonstrated understanding of the importance of cultural safety and Aboriginal concepts of social and emotional wellbeing, family, kinship, community and healing.

· Strong demonstrated connection with the local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.

· Strong demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children, and a commitment to supporting their wellbeing.

· Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with diverse groups.

· Creative problem-solving skills and a flexible, adaptable approach to meeting the evolving needs of the women and children.

What we offer

· Remuneration: $53.43/hr - $55.85/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging + appropriate SCHC&DSI; Award allowances.
