Service Technician – Food Processing Equipment

$110,000 Base + Vehicle | Field Service

Food Processing Equipment (FPE) is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our national service team, based in Pooraka, South Australia.

This is a hands-on role, working in our Pooraka workshop plus on-the-road supporting customers across the food processing industry. You’ll work on a broad range of specialised food processing equipment, carrying out servicing, fault finding, breakdown support, installation, commissioning and training users when required.

The absolute requirement

You must hold a current Australian A-Grade (unrestricted) electrical licence to be considered for this position.

Just as important, you need strong mechanical aptitude. The equipment we work on combines electrical and mechanical systems, so we need someone who is comfortable fault finding, pulling equipment apart, understanding how it works and getting it running again.

Previous experience working with food processing equipment is highly desirable and will be prioritised.

The role

Working as part of FPE’s national service team, you will:

- Service, maintain and repair food processing equipment

- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults

- Attend customer breakdowns and provide on-site technical support

- Install and commission new equipment

- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing

- Work directly with customers and provide practical technical advice and training

- Participate in the service team’s on-call requirements

- Complete service reporting and job documentation

- Travel interstate and overseas as required

What we're looking for

You will need:

- A current Australian A-Grade (unrestricted)



electrical licence – this is essential

- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical fault-finding ability

- Previous experience with food processing equipment

- Experience in field service, maintenance or industrial equipment

- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions on site

- Strong communication skills and a professional approach with customers

- A current driver's licence

- Flexibility to participate in an on-call roster

- The ability and willingness to travel interstate and overseas

FPE also has an office in New Zealand, so you must be comfortable travelling internationally when required. Training on the specialised equipment we represent will also involve overseas travel to our manufacturers.

Most importantly, we're looking for a team player, and someone who enjoys fixing equipment, solving problems and taking ownership of getting the job done properly.

How the role works

This is a full-time field service position based at our Head Office in Pooraka, South Australia.

You will work in our Pooraka work shop and on the road as needed (across Australia). This is not always an Adelaide based position, so you need to be comfortable managing your own workload and working independently while remaining closely connected to the broader FPE service team.
