Help shape a healthier future for Australians

At Diabetes Australia, we're leading the national response to one of Australia's biggest health challenges. Every day, we work alongside people living with diabetes, health professionals, researchers, governments and community organisations to reduce the impact of diabetes and improve lives across the country.

We're looking for an experienced and highly organised Submissions Manager to lead our organisation-wide submissions function and help secure opportunities that enable us to maximise our impact.

If you enjoy bringing people together, crafting compelling submissions and driving continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

As our Submissions Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in protecting and growing organisational revenue by delivering high-quality, compliant and strategically aligned submissions across the business.

From government tenders and funding bids to grants and strategic submissions, you'll oversee the end-to-end process and help build a best-practice submissions capability across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll coordinate high-priority opportunities, strengthen governance and processes, and contribute to sustainable organisational growth and impact.

This is a rare prospect to step into a newly created role and make a lasting contribution to a purpose-driven organisation that improves the lives of millions of Australians.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-priority tenders, grants, bids and funding submissions.

- Develop and implement submissions processes, governance, templates and quality standards.

- Maintain an organisation-wide submissions pipeline and forward planning calendar.

- Coordinate and collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop compelling,

high-quality content.

- Ensure submissions are strategically aligned, compliant and delivered on time.

- Monitor submission performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Build and maintain a central library of reusable content and submission assets.

- Lead and support the Desktop Publisher to deliver exceptional outcomes.

About you

You are a strategic thinker with exceptional writing and project management skills who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

You'll bring:

- Significant experience managing tenders, bids, grants or procurement submissions.

- Outstanding written communication, editing and storytelling capabilities.

- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

- Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

- A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to establish scalable processes.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in business, communications, public policy, health, law or a related field.

Experience within the not-for-profit, health, government or social impact sectors will be highly regarded.

What's in it for you?

- Newly created role with the opportunity to make your mark.

- Opportunity to build and lead a national submissions function.

- Purpose-driven organisation making a genuine difference in the community.

- Hybrid work model with flexibility to work from home and office.

- Learning & Development opportunities,

including access to over 80,000 courses.

- Access to generous not-for-profit salary packaging benefits.

- Flexible location across Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart or Melbourne.

- Collaborative, values-led culture where your expertise and ideas are valued.
