About the Role:
RFI is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead our RF Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Mechanical Engineering functions. Reporting to the National Engineering Manager, this role has been established to strengthen technical leadership within the business, ensure continuity of critical RF engineering capability and build succession depth across the engineering team.

The successful candidate will possess substantial hands-on RF design experience and a demonstrated track record of designing, developing and delivering RF products. This role requires a leader with solid technical credibility who can provide clear direction on engineering decisions while maintaining close involvement in the products and technologies that underpin the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction and leadership across the RF and hardware product portfolio
· Lead architecture and design reviews and support critical engineering decisions





· Guide technical strategy and support troubleshooting/root-cause investigations
· Mentor and develop engineers, building technical capability and succession depth
· Lead and manage the RF, Hardware and Mechanical Engineering teams
· Improve engineering execution and support predictable, on-time product delivery
· Maintain engineering quality and standards, keeping decisions aligned with commercial outcomes
· Create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential
· Significant hands-on RF engineering experience, with a demonstrated history of designing, developing and delivering RF products (system architecture, simulation/modelling, transmitter/receiver design, power amplifier design, filtering and matching networks)
· Experience with verification, validation, compliance and regulatory requirements
· Product delivery experience from concept through to manufacture
· Technical leadership experience — able to influence experienced engineers through credibility and judgement, not just hierarchy
· Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Desirable
· Experience in the communications industry
· Experience in regulated environments
· Proficiency with RF simulation tools
· Manufacturing support experience
