Odyssey Marine is seeking expressions of interest for casual Tug Masters to join their Geelong Team. This position has overall responsibility for navigating the vessel, and over-riding authority for the safety, health and security of all persons on board, in accordance with the Marine Statutory and Port Authority requirements. Odyssey prides itself on maintaining the vessel's mechanical operations to the highest safety standards and delivering operational excellence.

This role is not a FIFO position, applications that currently reside in Victoria, or are willing to re-locate should apply.

Tasks & responsibilities

- Oversee all navigation aspects of vessel operations and maintenance.

- Assist the Pilot in berthing/unberthing vessels in a secure manner.

- Directing crew to undertake tasks for the purposes of vessel operation, navigational support tasks, berth/unberthing.

- Operating plant and equipment including testing and assisting in routine maintenance on vessel systems including mechanical, electrical,



hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire prevention and control systems.

- Ensure vessels are maintained in accordance to AMSA, class certificates and other regulatory requirements.

- When allocated to Duty Master, ensure tugs are allocated to complete jobs and respond to operations centre scheduling as required. Report to supervisor if more resources are required.

- Supervising periodic surveys throughout the vessels life to ensure vessel is fit for purpose.

- Ensure vessel is prepared as required for all operational duties and tasks.

- Lead by example, ensuring crew members are well-versed in safety and other company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum Master under <45m Near Coastal qualification

- Geelong Ports Local Knowledge Certificate (LKC)

- ASD and Harbour Towage experience preferable but not essential

- Current Medical

- MSIC Card or ability to obtain

- Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain

- Excellent organisational skills and ability to maintain own workload

- Strong written, IT and communication skills
