Sous Chef – The River Hotel, Margaret River, WA 6285

Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking to take the next step in your career?

Join our established venue in the beautiful town of Margaret River, WA, where you’ll work alongside a dedicated team passionate about great food and quality service.

What You’ll Do:

- Assist the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen

- Supervise and support kitchen staff during preparation and service

- Prepare, cook and present meals to a consistently high standard

- Ensure food is served promptly and in accordance with recipes and portion requirements

- Assist with menu planning, daily specials and food preparation

- Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control

- Maintain food-safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards

- Assist with stock control, ordering, deliveries and inventory management

- Minimise food waste and help manage kitchen costs

- Train and guide junior kitchen staff

- Maintain a clean,



organised and efficient kitchen

- Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence

What We’re Looking For:

- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Sous Chef

- Strong kitchen organisation and leadership skills

- Sound knowledge of food-safety and hygiene requirements

- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy kitchen

- Reliable, professional and able to work well as part of a team

- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

- Reasonable additional hours may be required, up to 45 hours per week

- Evening, weekend and public holiday availability is essential

What We Offer:

- Annual salary of $80,000

- Full time employment
