We are seeking Mentors (also known as Support Workers), passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives to join Access4u, a leading South Australian not-for-profit organisation in the disability sector.

We are seeking those interested in Permanent Part time roles within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, working across a fortnightly roster (including weekdays, weekends, and evenings/nights) in Adelaide. We are searching for mentors in Adelaide's Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western, and Hills suburbs.

The role:

At Access4u, a Mentor is someone who works directly with people with a disability. Access4u Mentors provide physical, emotional, behavioural, social and personal support.

Mentors assist Access4u customers with a range of activities, including (but not limited to):

- day to day living tasks, including providing in-home support, assistance with shopping and helping with household tasks and personal care activities

- developing life skills, by attending classes and exploring new hobbies

- providing emotional support and friendship

- enhancing opportunities for learning, skill development and independent
mobility support

- transporting customers’ to appointments, social activities, etc, as required.

What you will need to succeed:

- Qualifications (e.g. Cert III Disability) will be highly regarded.

- Previous experience in the NDIS/disability support sector is essential.

- Good problem-solving skills.

- Ability to stay calm, patient, and regulated during high-stress situations.

- Consistent, reliable, and able to follow protocols and support plans.

- Good teamwork and communication with staff, coordinators and practitioner team.

- Proficient in operational documentation (incident reporting, ABC, progress reporting etc).

- A positive attitude and highly customer service focused.





- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children’s Check, Child Safe Environments Training and First Aid + CPR (or willingness to obtain).

- Medication training will be highly regarded.

- Seizure training will be highly regarded.

- CPI training will be highly regarded.

- Dysphagia training will be highly regarded.

- An Australian Driver's Licence (P2 minimum) is essential.

- You must have availability for weekday shifts, evening/overnight shifts, and weekend shifts.
