Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.

ANI plays a pivotal role in delivering Australia’s naval shipbuilding capability, contributing to one of the nation’s most significant and complex infrastructure programs. Based in Adelaide, our work underpins the future of naval shipbuilding through world-class infrastructure at Osborne.

ANI is seeking an experienced Geospatial Manager to shape and manage its geospatial capability across major projects, assets and operations. Reporting to the Head of Digital, you will oversee GIS platforms, spatial data, mapping services and geospatial governance, while managing a team and partnering across Digital Engineering, project delivery, asset management and operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Set the direction and priorities for ANI’s GIS, spatial data, mapping and geospatial services

- Manage and develop the geospatial team, including workload, capability and performance

- Maintain data quality, integrity, security and governance across spatial platforms and master survey information

- Deliver practical geospatial solutions, analysis, maps and dashboards to support project, asset and operational decisions

- Partner with project teams, the Digital Engineering Manager, vendors and service providers to improve geospatial delivery and capability

About You:

You will bring a strong combination of geospatial expertise and people leadership, with the ability to translate complex spatial information into practical outcomes.



You will be comfortable operating across technical and non-technical environments, and confident setting priorities, improving standards and building trusted relationships across major projects as well as business functions.

You will also have:

- Proven leadership capability managing GIS, geospatial or spatial data functions within infrastructure, asset management, project or operational environments

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in GIS, Geoscience, Earth Sciences, Surveying, Spatial Sciences, Data Management or a related discipline are desirable

- Hands-on proficiency with GIS platforms, spatial databases and data management tools

- Demonstrated people leadership, including workload prioritisation, coaching and capability development

- Knowledge of spatial data governance, data quality, information repositories and mapping standards

- Developed and implemented geospatial strategies for an organisation

- A current Class C Driver’s Licence
