PARTNER Executive is proud to be supporting an ASX listed gold development company on the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer.
The company
Our client holds a flagship, large scale asset in one of the world's premier gold producing regions. With a landmark strategic funding agreement recently secured and a strong balance sheet behind it, the business is transitioning from development through project execution and, ultimately, into operations. This is the stage where the finance function stops being a reporting exercise and starts shaping how the project gets built.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the CFO is a genuine strategic partner to the MD and Board, providing commercial and financial leadership across funding strategy, capital management, project development and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the company's funding strategy, engaging directly with banks, investors and financial institutions as the business progresses through development and into construction
- Partnering with the Managing Director and Board on strategic decision making at a pivotal stage of growth
- Providing commercial insight across budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation and project economics, working closely with corporate and technical teams
- Building the finance and IT capability required for scale, and strengthening reporting,
governance and risk frameworks as the business grows
- Supporting or leading lender and investor engagement through debt funding processes
About you
You are a commercially credible finance leader who has been through this transition before, not observed it from the outside. Specifically, you bring:
- Experience taking a resources project from early investment through construction and into production, or a close equivalent, as this is the capability that matters most
- Hands on industry experience in a mining, energy or resources business rather than solely advisory, audit or banking, though a robust technical grounding from those environments is valued alongside it
- Demonstrated involvement in debt funding processes, with the ability to support or lead lender and investor engagement
- Strong technical accounting, ASX reporting and governance grounding
- The presence to hold a seat at the table with a Board and to be relied on by the MD
- Gold or copper experience is an advantage, though we welcome candidates from across the commodities, including those based outside Western Australia
