We are seeking multiple Kinship Care Workers to join our dedicated Hindmarsh and Blair Athol teams, where two full time opportunities and a part-time vacancy are available. Temporary increase to hours may be negotiated for the part-time opportunity available at Hindmarsh.
The role will mentor and educate Kinship Carers in practical duties, including supervising and assessing placements. You will establish robust community and professional links, such as liaising with Case Managers, to understand the needs of children and young people. These duties will strengthen the health and wellbeing of vulnerable youth and bolster your supervisory skills to enact innovative solutions to problems. Immerse yourself in a role that creates meaningful change for an array of stakeholders through your personal and professional experience.
In this role, you will:
- Handle complex family interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of care services
- Build interpersonal relationships through community and professional networks
- Identify the wellbeing needs of clientele to enact appropriate risk responses and conflict-resolution measures
- Create innovative-based solutions that heighten organisational performance
- Utilise sound child protection experience to decipher ambiguous information.
About you:
- You will implement strong conflict resolution skills to maintain safety and harmony
- You possess exemplary cultural awareness, specifically of Aboriginal culture and kinship systems
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You have expert knowledge of parenting models, trauma and abuse that impact a child’s development
