Recent Graduate Physiotherapist | 150+ Hours of Mentoring
Thrive Physio Plus | Highgate, Adelaide
$73,000 + super, plus 150+ hours of funded training in your first year
2026 and 2027 graduates | January to March 2027 start | Full-time or part-time (min 30 hours)
The short version
We're an established private practice in Highgate seeing close to 500 clients a week. We've just expanded to a 10-room clinic with a full on-site rehabilitation gym.
We're looking for new graduate physiotherapists who want to get genuinely good at this, quickly, with real support around them.
You'd be joining a Clinical Supervisor, a Practice Manager, senior physios across a range of special interests, a team of associate physios at a similar stage to you, and directors closely involved in clinical development.
The training, in numbers
Every clinic says they mentor new grads. Here's exactly what ours amounts to:
- 30 hours of structured training in your first two months, including one-on-one sessions with our senior therapists and directors
- Minimum 3 hours every week after that, through to 12 months — mentoring, case discussion, hands-on work and clinical reasoning
That's over 150 hours of dedicated training in your first year. Costed at our associate clinicians' hourly rate, it represents more than $35,000 of investment in you, and it costs you nothing.
Alongside that:
- A named mentor from day one — a senior physio responsible for your development, with sessions scheduled in the diary rather than squeezed between patients. You'll also receive input from our directors, and clinical supervisor.
- Weekly team PD. The entire clinical team gets together for 60 minutes once per week. Iron sharpens iron.
- Reduced caseload for your first weeks while you build confidence
- Structured onboarding through our clinical model, rather than being handed a diary and wished luck
- $1,000 annual PD budget
- Associate physios alongside you at a similar stage, so you're not the only person learning out loud
You'll also get 60-minute initial consults and 30-minute follow-ups. That matters more than it sounds when you're starting out. It's the difference between learning to assess properly and learning to rush.
How the money works
We'll be direct about this, because most ads aren't.
$73,000 plus super, guaranteed, for your first 12 months. That's above award, and it includes your Saturday loading.
There's no incentive component in year one. That's a deliberate choice, and here's the reasoning: we take a significant amount of time out of your diary to train you — over 150 hours in your first year, at a cost of more than $35,000 to us. Those are hours you're not treating. Paying you on volume while simultaneously pulling you out of the diary to learn would be asking you to choose between the two.
So we've taken the choice away. Your first year is for getting good. We'll carry the cost of that, and you'll be paid the same regardless of how full your book is.
From 12 months you move onto our performance model, and if earning more motivates you, there's plenty of room:
- Physios in their second and third years taking home $100,000 – $140,000 + super
- One of our highest-earning clinicians across the entire team is two years out of university!!
- Physios at the 5–6 year mark: $130,000-$150,000 + super
The model rewards caseload and outcomes, not time served. We'll show you exactly how it works — base, thresholds, percentages — before you accept anything.
What the week looks like
- 60-minute initials, 30-minute follow-ups
- Saturday mornings, 8am to 1pm, included in your 38 hours,
- Protected non-clinical for PD
- A caseload across the full musculoskeletal range, with >90% private paying clients who are motivated to get better.
Who we think this suits
You've just finished, or you're about to. You're curious, you ask questions, and you'd rather be told what you got wrong than left to work it out alone.
You're not expecting to know everything yet. But you're motivated to learn and are receptive to feedback.
You'll need:
- Current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to register before starting
- Genuine interest in musculoskeletal and rehabilitation-based physiotherapy
- Willingness to work within our clinical model while developing your own style
- Reliability, and a decent sense of humour
Private practice experience isn't required. That's rather the point.
About us
Thrive Physio Plus opened in 2018. We've built our reputation on high-quality care and genuine long-term client relationships, and our clinical model runs in three stages:
Resolve — help clients understand what's happening and get meaningful relief
Restore — rebuild movement, strength and confidence
Thrive — build resilience so they stay active long term
Having a clear model to work within matters most when you're starting out. You won't be inventing your approach from scratch on your third patient.
We take the work seriously and ourselves considerably less so. Regular team training, clinical discussion, a decent amount of laughing, and the occasional celebration that runs later than planned.
How to apply
Send your CV and a short note about what you're hoping to get from your first few years to **********@thrivephysioplus.com.au
If you'd like to ask questions first, email me and we'll set up a time. Final year students are welcome to get in touch early — we're happy to talk before you've graduated.
And if you're a year or two out rather than a new graduate, and this looks better than where you are now, get in touch anyway. We're open to it.
