About the role

Pund and Associates is seeking a Taxation Accountant to join our energetic team in Sale, VIC. This is a full-time or part-time position offering a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise in taxation whilst providing essential support to our clients. As a Taxation Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services, ensuring our clients remain tax-compliant and optimise their tax positions. This position is based in our Sale office and offers the chance to work with a diverse client base across various industries.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and superannuation funds in compliance with Australian Taxation Office requirements

- Conduct tax planning reviews and provide strategic advice to clients on minimising their tax liabilities

- Maintain and update client tax records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all tax documentation

- Perform tax reconciliations and identify discrepancies requiring follow-up or clarification

- Research complex tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax legislation and rulings

- Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information and supporting documentation

- Prepare tax adjustments and correspondence with tax authorities where required

- Assist with quarterly and annual compliance reporting obligations

- Contribute to the development of tax strategies and solutions tailored to client circumstances

- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards





What we're looking for

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

- 3+ years of experience in a taxation or accounting role, preferably within a professional practice environment

- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law, including income tax, GST, and superannuation

- Proficiency with tax software and accounting packages (such as MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks or similar platforms)

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when managing complex tax calculations and documentation

- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining tax concepts clearly to clients of varying backgrounds

- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines, particularly during peak tax seasons

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

- Current or working towards membership with CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or willing to undertake

- A proactive approach to problem-solving with robust organisational skills
