About the role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee all day-to-day operational functions across the Region, ensuring services are delivered safely, reliably, and in accordance with all State regulatory requirements and National Heavy Vehicle Law.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage operational teams across multiple depot locations
- Oversee daily bus and coach operations, scheduling, and service delivery
- Ensure compliance with all Queensland Transport legislation, NHVR requirements, fatigue management, and workplace safety obligations
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage driver performance, workforce planning, recruitment, and training
- Monitor operational KPIs and service standards
- Coordinate fleet availability in conjunction with maintenance teams
- Investigate operational incidents, complaints,
and risk matters
- Build robust relationships with schools, charter clients, government stakeholders, and community partners
- Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives
About you
- Experience in bus, coach, transport, or logistics operations management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- High-level problem-solving and organisational abilities
- Experience with rostering, fleet management, and operational software systems
- Operational reporting capability
- Current Queensland Driver Licence (MR or Higher or willing to obtain)
- Driver Authorisation and/or heavy vehicle experience highly regarded
- A high level of autonomous self management
