Our Company

TerraCom Limited (ASX: TER) is a growth driven Australian mining company headquartered in Brisbane, with a global footprint and a diverse portfolio of coal assets across Australia and South Africa. Recognised as a reliable low cost producer, we are committed to maximising value and performance across our operations to deliver strong returns for our investors.

Our flagship asset, the Blair Athol Coal Mine, is strategically located in Queensland’s prolific coal heartland and remains the bedrock of our operational success.

Looking ahead, we are strengthening our position in the region through a strategic partnership with leading Chinese energy company Wintime Energy Group Co. Ltd. Together, we are advancing the Moorlands Thermal Coal Project located less than 15 kilometres from Blair Athol as a key extension of our Central Queensland operations. This development is set to play a vital role in enhancing production capacity and supporting long term growth across our Australian portfolio.

At TerraCom, you will not just start your career, you will have the opportunity to build it. We believe the best engineers develop through a combination of technical knowledge, practical experience and exposure to the people and equipment that keep a mining operation moving.

If you are an Electrical Engineering graduate looking for an opportunity to get out from behind the desk, develop practical engineering capability and build a long term career in mining, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Role: Start Your Engineering Career Where It Matters

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the Maintenance team at our Blair Athol Coal Mine.

This is a Monday to Friday site based role, with options for flexibility, designed to provide a strong foundation in electrical engineering within a large scale open cut mining environment.

Working alongside experienced maintenance, engineering and operational professionals, you will gain practical exposure to the electrical systems, mobile and fixed plant, maintenance strategies and engineering processes that support the safe and reliable operation of the mine.

You will spend time both in the field and working on engineering projects, giving you the opportunity to understand how electrical engineering decisions translate into real operational outcomes.

Importantly, this is not a graduate role where you will simply observe from the sidelines. You will be encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, contribute ideas and progressively take ownership of engineering activities as your capability develops.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will work closely with experienced electrical and maintenance personnel across the operation.

Your development will include exposure to electrical maintenance, reliability, fault investigation, engineering projects, asset management, statutory compliance and continuous improvement.

Over time,

the role is intended to build both your technical and operational capability and provide a robust foundation for progression into more senior electrical engineering positions.

For the right individual, there will also be an opportunity to progressively develop the experience and capability required to pursue a future Electrical Engineering Manager pathway, subject to the relevant experience, competency and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities of the Role

As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to:

- Provide electrical engineering support to the site Maintenance team.

- Gain hands on exposure to electrical systems associated with mobile mining equipment, fixed plant and supporting mine infrastructure.

- Assist with electrical maintenance planning, equipment reliability and asset performance improvement.

- Participate in equipment inspections, maintenance activities, shutdowns and engineering investigations.

- Assist with identifying the root causes of electrical faults, equipment failures and recurring maintenance issues.

- Support electrical engineering projects from initial problem identification through to design, implementation and commissioning.

- Review equipment performance data and identify opportunities to improve reliability, availability and maintenance effectiveness.

- Assist with the preparation and review of electrical drawings, technical documentation, procedures and engineering records.

- Work closely with tradespeople, supervisors, planners, engineers and operational teams to understand site requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.

- Develop an understanding of electrical risk management, isolation processes, electrical safety and statutory requirements within a Queensland mining environment.

- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, equipment reliability, productivity and cost performance.

- Participate in operational and maintenance meetings and progressively develop your ability to communicate technical information to a range of stakeholders.

- Build a practical understanding of mining operations and the relationship between engineering, maintenance and production.

About You

You are either completing or have recently completed your Electrical Engineering degree and are looking for more than a traditional office based graduate role.

You want to understand how equipment actually works, spend time in the field, learn from experienced people and see the impact of your engineering decisions firsthand.

Previous mining experience is not required. We are looking for potential,

attitude and a genuine interest in developing your career within the mining industry.

You will bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or be nearing completion of your degree.

- A genuine interest in electrical engineering, maintenance, heavy industry and mining.

- Strong analytical and problem solving capability.

- An interest in understanding electrical equipment and systems from both a technical and practical perspective.

- A willingness to spend time in the field and learn directly from experienced engineers, supervisors and tradespeople.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- The confidence to ask questions and contribute ideas.

- A practical mindset and willingness to take ownership as your experience develops.

- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to your work.

- A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

- A current driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain one.

What’s on Offer

- Monday to Friday roster at TerraCom’s flagship Blair Athol Coal Mine, with options for flexibility.

- An opportunity to start your engineering career in a practical operational environment.

- Genuine exposure to electrical engineering, maintenance, reliability, projects and mining operations.

- Direct mentoring and development from experienced site professionals.

- The opportunity to work alongside electrical tradespeople and experienced maintenance personnel and understand engineering from the ground up.

- Progressive responsibility as your technical and operational capability develops.

- Exposure to the full lifecycle of electrical equipment, from maintenance and fault finding through to engineering projects and improvement initiatives.

- A potential longer term development pathway toward electrical engineering leadership and future Electrical Engineering Manager capability.

- Competitive graduate remuneration.

- A supportive team environment where graduates are encouraged to learn, contribute and develop.

- Long term career opportunities within TerraCom as our Central Queensland operations continue to develop.

Build Your Career With Us

Your first engineering role can shape the direction of your career.

At Blair Athol, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge while gaining something that cannot be learned from a textbook: a practical understanding of how a mine operates and how good engineering contributes to safe, reliable and productive performance.

If you are ready to apply what you have learned at university, challenge yourself in a real operational environment and start building a career in the resources industry, we would like to hear from you.

Applications are encouraged from recent Electrical Engineering graduates and students approaching completion of their degree.

We thank all applicants for their interest, however communications will be with shortlisted candidates only.
