SMS Geotechnical is looking for a hardworking, reliable and motivated Drilling Assistant (Offsider) to join our growing team.

No previous drilling experience is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn new skills, work outdoors and build a long-term career in the drilling and ground investigation industry. With training, mentoring and the right attitude, this role has the potential to develop into a skilled drilling position.

About the Role

As a Drilling Assistant, you will work alongside experienced drilling crews assisting with a range of drilling and ground investigation activities.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that involves working outdoors and travelling to various work sites.

You will receive on-the-job training and support to develop your skills and knowledge of drilling operations.

Essential Requirements

- Current SA Driver's Licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Current Construction Industry White Card
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to apply basic first aid
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Previous drilling experience is not required – attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are what we're looking for.
