Nurse Unit Manager | Brisbane | Monday to Friday | $67.66 per hour | Free parking

If you are an ANUM, Team Leader or Floor Coordinator ready to run your own unit, this is the step up.

A private day surgery in central Brisbane is looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to lead its theatre team. You will report to the Director of Nursing and take responsibility for the floor. The site is open to appointing someone stepping into their first NUM role.

About the Unit

A well established day surgery running high volume lists across gastroenterology, gynaecology, plastics and urology. The lists are full and the pace is quick.

The Role

- Leading the theatre nursing team across mixed specialties
- Building and managing the roster
- Driving clinical standards, compliance and quality across the floor
- Working with the Director of Nursing on unit performance
- Developing and mentoring theatre staff
- Scrubbing and scouting as required to support the list

What You Will Need

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience as an ANUM, Team Leader, Floor Coordinator or NUM in a perioperative setting
- Solid scrub and scout experience across mixed specialties. Gastroenterology, gynaecology, plastics or urology is an advantage
- Confidence building and running a roster
- Ability to lead a team at pace in a high volume day surgery
- Full eligibility to work in Australia

Performance Objectives

- Lead the Theatre Floor:



Take ownership of day-to-day floor leadership across mixed specialty lists (gastroenterology, gynaecology, plastics, urology).
- Build a High-Performing Roster: Construct and manage a roster that keeps a high-volume day surgery running smoothly.
- Drive Clinical Standards: Own compliance and quality outcomes across the unit.
- Develop the Team: Mentor and develop theatre staff, growing capability across specialties.
- Stay Hands-On: Scrub and scout as required to support the list when needed.

Setting & Resources

You will lead a well established, high-volume day surgery in central Brisbane, working closely with the Director of Nursing as you step into your first Nurse Unit Manager role, with an established theatre team already in place.

Essential Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience as an ANUM, Team Leader, Floor Coordinator or NUM in a perioperative setting
