Some arrivals are quick. Others come with six suitcases, a surfboard and a story.

At Andaz Gold Coast, we’re looking for a Porter who knows that the first few minutes of a guest’s stay can shape everything that follows.

You’ll be there at the beginning of the experience — welcoming guests, helping with luggage, sharing a little local knowledge and making arrivals and departures feel smooth, personal and unhurried.

This is a role for someone who notices what people need before they have to ask and brings genuine warmth to every interaction.

Who are you?

You’re naturally helpful, confident with people and comfortable being on the move.

You enjoy creating a great first impression, but you also know hospitality is about much more than a polished welcome. It’s remembering a guest’s name. Offering directions before they ask. Spotting when someone needs a hand. Knowing when to chat and when to simply make things easier.

You bring a calm, positive energy, even when the lobby is busy and several things are happening at once.

You’re curious about the Gold Coast and enjoy sharing the places, experiences and local details that make it special.

Most importantly, you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people.

Qualifications

What will you bring?

You’ll bring:

· A warm, confident and approachable personality

· A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service

· The ability to create memorable first and last impressions

· Solid communication and interpersonal skills

· Confidence assisting guests with luggage and belongings

· A practical,



hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed

· Good knowledge of the local area, or the curiosity to quickly build it

· The ability to remain organised and composed in a busy hotel environment

· A collaborative approach with your fellow colleagues

· Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays

· A current driver licence, where required for operational duties

· You must already have current and ongoing working rights for Australia

Previous experience in a hotel, luxury environment or customer-facing role is valued, but just as important is the way you connect with people.

What will you do?

You’ll be part of the rhythm of the hotel from the moment guests arrive.

You’ll welcome guests at the entrance, assist with luggage, support arrivals and departures and help create a seamless transition between the street, the lobby and the rest of the hotel.

You’ll provide directions, organise luggage storage, assist with transport and work closely with the Front Office team to make sure guests feel looked after from the beginning.

You’ll also become a source of local knowledge.
