About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team on a 6-week contract, starting immediately. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, this role will provide critical support during a busy period, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial reporting and accounting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accountant who can integrate quickly into an existing finance function with minimal onboarding time, and who is comfortable working autonomously to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and process journal entries, accruals and prepayments in line with month-end close timetables

- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies

- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis

- Support cash flow reporting and forecasting

- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are accurately coded and recorded





- Assist with accounts payable/receivable oversight as required

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies and internal controls

- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests

About you

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

- CPA / CA qualified (preferred)

- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a financial accounting role

- Solid working knowledge of accounting standards and month-end close processes

- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems

- Advanced Excel skills

- Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running with minimal training

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines
