Grounds Maintenance

Rate: $40 - $45 per hour
Location: Maitland & Upper Hunter Region, NSW

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Officer to join a well-established team servicing sites throughout the Maitland and Upper Hunter region.

This is a hands on position suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering high quality work. We're looking for someone who can work autonomously, show initiative, and confidently support the team when required.

The majority of work involves roadside and large scale grounds maintenance, including areas associated with mining operations and community housing sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Mowing, brush cutting and vegetation control.
- Operating ride-on mowers and commercial grounds maintenance equipment.
- General grounds and roadside maintenance.
- Weed management and site presentation activities.
- Completing daily safety checks and site documentation.
- Maintaining equipment and reporting any defects.
- Working safely in accordance with WHS requirements.
- Supporting supervisors and contributing to a productive team environment.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, vegetation management, civil maintenance, labouring or a similar outdoor environment.
- Experience operating commercial mowing and maintenance equipment.
- Strong work ethic with excellent reliability and attendance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.




- A proactive attitude and willingness to assist and guide less experienced team members when needed.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
- Current Driver's Licence.

Desirable

- White Card.
- Certificate III in Horticulture.
- AQF3 Chemical Accreditation.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Chainsaw certification.
- Experience working on roadside, infrastructure, or min related maintenance projects.
