Are you an analytical financial professional who thrives on turning raw project data into actionable business intelligence? Do you excel at building robust costing frameworks and delivering high-impact financial visibility to decision-makers?

A market-leading, energetic, and vibrant company based in Western Australia. As they continue to scale, they are seeking a sharp, strategic Project Accountant to take ownership of continually improving, implementing, and refining project costing and financial reporting systems.

Note: This role is strictly focused on financial analysis, systems implementation, and performance reporting—you will not be managing day-to-day project operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Project Accountant, you will serve as the financial authority over project portfolios—building the framework that tracks, reports, and optimizes performance across the business.

- Systems Implementation: Set up, implement, and standardise project costing methodologies and reporting structures across operations.
- Review & Analysis: Conduct rigorous reviews of project performance, tracking budget vs. actuals, variance analysis, margin trends, and key financial metrics.
- Strategic Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive weekly and monthly financial reporting packages for executive management, highlighting key insights, cost drivers, and recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Partnering: Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, and Senior Leadership to ensure accurate cost forecasting, budget oversight, and financial control.
- Process Optimization: Identify cost leakages, streamline project accounting workflows,

and champion continuous improvement of financial reporting software.

Perks & Tools Provided

They pride themselves on setting up their team with the tools needed to succeed! This role offers a competitive package.

What We’re Looking For

- Proven Experience: in project accounting, cost management, or financial analysis (experience in construction or manufacturing is highly regarded).
- Implementation Skills: Demonstrated track record of establishing or improving project costing structures and reporting templates.
- Financial & Analytical Acumen: Capabilities in financial modelling, variance analysis, budget preparation, and forecasting.
- Systems Expertise: High proficiency with ERP systems.
- Strategic Communication: Ability to translate financial data into clear, compelling reports for non-financial stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Appropriate University or Tafe qualifications highly regarded but not essential.

Why Join?

They pride themselves on an enjoyable, high-performing workplace culture grounded in Lean principles, continuous improvement, and sustainability. If you want a role where your financial systems directly shape business decisions, this is the place for you.
