Public Sector People is partnering with a QLD State Government Department to source an AO3 Finance Officer for an initial 6-month contract. This role sits within a team supporting the commercial sustainability of the department, delivering day-to-day costing, financial, procurement and project administration services across large-scale infrastructure delivery projects.
Initial 6 Month Contract
AO3: $51.13 per hour plus super
Location: Caloundra

Your Role:
You'll provide timely, accurate and responsive financial and administrative support to project teams, helping keep infrastructure delivery work on track. This includes managing ordering, timesheets, purchasing and supply of project requirements, along with financial reporting and reconciliation across multiple projects and work orders.

Your Responsibilities:
Undertake financial and timesheet transactions relating to daily costing and revenue claims on projects and work orders, including financial transaction reconciliation
Monitor the financial position of projects and work orders, ensuring only correct charges are debited and flagging any deviations to management early




Prepare "End of Month" and on-request financial reporting to track project positions accurately, liaising with line managers on procurement and financial documentation
Requisition and monitor the supply of goods and services, resolve routine supplier issues, and support inventory purchasing, cost apportionment and stocktaking
Provide advice and support on costing and financial administration matters to project and team members
Prepare and check employee timesheets for accuracy against relevant Awards, agreements and policies, resolving payroll discrepancies
Maintain valuable governance across all financial and administrative responsibilities
