We are an established Transport Company based in the western suburbs, and we are currently seeking an experienced hands-on Workshop Supervisor - Diesel Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team.

This role is focused on managing/actioning the servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance of our semi-skel trailer fleet and compliance requirements as per NHVR standards. The successful candidate will be hands-on (half on the tools/half administration), organised, tech-savvy and able to work independently.

Key responsibilities
Manage/action the services, repairs and maintain semi-skel trailers, including preventive maintenance, inspections and ABC servicing.
Manage small on site maintenance team
Perform fault finding and repairs across air, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems, including airbags, bearings, mudguards and auxiliary components.
Coordinate scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and repairs, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.
Maintain 100% accurate maintenance records and service history in Gearbox.
Use Gearbox and other digital systems to manage maintenance activities, work orders, job cards and service records.
Coordinate workshop activities,



service sheets and weekly parts ordering.
Ensure GPS tracking and onboard skel systems are operational and maintained.
Identify, assess and manage maintenance and workplace risks, including completing risk assessments, work instructions and corrective actions.
Support WHS, NHVR and maintenance compliance requirements and ensure safety issues are reported and closed out.

About you
Relevant mechanical qualification/trade certification preferred but not essential.
Solid understanding of NHVR regulations and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience with semi-skel trailers, heavy trailers or similar equipment.
Solid mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with air, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Tech-savvy and confident using digital maintenance systems, with experience using Gearbox highly desirable.
Robust understanding of risk management, safety and compliance.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and take ownership of maintenance activities.
Valuable communication and organisational skills.
Heavy vehicle licence is highly desirable.
