We're looking for a Kitchen Hand / Cook to support our Chef in delivering a café experience that's every bit as magical as the rest of MoPA.
About the Role
As Kitchen Hand, you’ll support the Head Chef to deliver a consistently high-quality food offer. From prep to presentation, you’ll take pride in every item that leaves the kitchen.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare café and catering items, including sandwiches, wraps, snacks, and platters
Ensure food meets presentation, portion, and quality standards
Maintain a clean, organised, and food-protected kitchen
Follow stock rotation and minimise waste
Support quality control and flag any issues early
Work closely with café and wider museum teams
About You
Experience in a café or kitchen workplace
Solid food prep and presentation skills
High standards around cleanliness and food safety
Able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
Team player who communicates well and takes initiative
Comfortable following direction while working independently
Formal qualifications are a bonus, but not essential, hands-on experience matters most.
Availability
MoPA is open 7 days a week, including weekends and school holidays. Please only apply if you’re available during these times.
Pay: $26.44 – $44.99 per hour
