Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO)

Greater Melbourne, Australia Area (Hybrid) The Company is seeking a Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) to join their Digital Innovation and EMR Team. The CNIO will be the executive nursing leader responsible for nursing informatics and digital nursing practice, ensuring that digital strategy, EMR optimization, data, analytics, and AI align with skilled standards, workforce priorities, and contemporary models of care. This strategic role involves leading the nursing informatics team, setting digital health and informatics strategy, and championing the engagement of the nursing workforce in the use of data, technology, and eHealth. The successful candidate will also provide professional leadership in areas such as the responsible adoption of AI and predictive analytics, and will be a key member of the Nursing Qualified Council, contributing to organization-wide nursing strategy and governance. Applicants for the CNIO position at the company should be Registered Nurses with current AHPRA registration,



and possess senior nursing credibility with a demonstrated ability to provide professional nursing leadership. Experience in EMR implementation and/or optimization, as well as a solid understanding of health data, analytics, and quality improvement, is essential. The role requires the ability to influence organization-wide nursing strategy, lead change, and ensure compliance with digital health policies. Highly regarded qualifications include certification in health informatics and postgraduate degrees in relevant fields. The CNIO will also be responsible for team leadership, workforce development, and fostering a culture of innovation and learning in the nursing staff.
