You'll be looking after the extensive collection of tools in the machine shop, diesel shop and engine room shop.

Keeping the tidy, checking for damage and letting the senior engine room crew know of any consumables needed.

Knowledge in tools would be a outstanding asset but our crew are happy to teach.

Benefits of volunteering with us is helping preserve one of the most historic ships preserved in Australia which also provides a training facility for many people.

The perks for the volunteers are learning current skills, meeting new people, social events including dinners, movie nights, camping trips and museum visits.

The MV Cape Don society operates the MV Cape Don and looks after the volunteers. Everyone is a volunteer.

Training

We provide a safety induction and at various times per year a first aid and basic fire fighting training.
