A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
Design deploy, operate, and enhance the software platforms and automation systems that underpin up-to-date network engineering.
Transform complex network workflows into scalable, reliable internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and resilience.
Collaborate closely with network engineers to understand challenges, develop creative solutions, and continuously improve how large-scale networks are managed and automated.
This is a software-first role focused on building robust automation frameworks, platforms, and testing capabilities that support day-to-day network operations.

Key Skills / Experience




Networking Software Development – Experience building applications in the networking domain.
Robust hands-on with Ansible and Terraform, including custom plugins/modules, and familiarity with infrastructure/config-as-code.
Solid understanding of operating systems, Linux, and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).
Proficiency in Python with experience in code reviews, pull requests, and structured problem-solving.
Ability to write database queries, with working knowledge of MongoDB.
Experience with testing strategies, build/packaging systems, dependency management, and CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins).
