Management Accountant

Hays are partnering with a growing organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector. Renowned for delivering complex projects across development, engineering, construction and maintenance services, this business plays a key role in supporting Australia's evolving energy landscape.

Due to a period of transition, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join the team on a short-term contract. This position will provide end-to-end finance support while the organisation undertakes a permanent recruitment process.

Your new role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership across a broad range of finance functions, including:
Month-end accounting, management reporting and financial analysis
Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
Business partnering with operational stakeholders
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable oversight
End-to-end payroll processing and payroll support
Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Process improvement initiatives and ad hoc project work




Assisting with audit preparation and statutory compliance requirements

What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Accountant position
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and analysis
Hands-on experience across AP, AR and payroll functions
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting
Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) or working towards
