Mechanical Fitter / Heavy Plant Mechanic

Cobra Waste Industries | Yennora, NSW | Full-Time Cobra Waste Industries is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Heavy Plant Mechanic to join our team at our Yennora recycling facility.

This is a hands-on role working across heavy plant, recycling equipment and vehicles, with a strong focus on mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, welding and fabrication.

Robust welding and fabrication skills are essential for this role, including experience with MIG, TIG and Stick welding.

Key Responsibilities
Servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy plant and machinery
Maintenance of shredders, conveyors and recycling plant equipment
Working on excavators, loaders, material handlers and other mobile plant
MIG, TIG and Stick welding
Fabrication and structural repairs
Repairing cracks, worn components, frames, brackets and steel structures
Mechanical and hydraulic fault finding and repairs
Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Breakdown diagnosis and urgent repairs
Identifying faults before they result in major downtime
Assisting with truck and trailer maintenance where required
Maintaining service and maintenance records

What We're Looking For
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter,



Heavy Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or equivalent experience
Strong MIG, TIG and Stick welding skills
Strong fabrication and metal repair experience
Experience working with heavy plant, machinery or industrial equipment
Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
Positive fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and confidently carry out repairs
Current driver's licence
Reliable, safety-focused and takes pride in their workmanship
