Mechanical Design Engineer needed for long-term prospect

Our client is a well-established Australian engineering business that designs and delivers specialised equipment solutions for a range of industrial and resource sector applications.

Due to continued growth, an opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their collaborative engineering team based NOR.

Your new role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical products from concept through to manufacture.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will produce detailed designs, undertake engineering analysis and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include
Developing 3D models and detailed component assemblies using CAD software
Producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings for workshop execution
Conducting engineering analysis and validation using ANSYS or similar software
Incorporating mechanical safety and risk mitigation principles into designs
Supporting product development, testing and continuous improvement initiatives
Liaising with internal stakeholders, production teams and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery





What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will possess:
Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in mechanical design and product development
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD design software
Experience conducting engineering analysis using ANSYS or similar FEA tools
Ability to develop high-quality fabrication and manufacturing drawings
Sound understanding of mechanical safety in design principles
Solid communication and problem-solving skills
