Associate, Investment Banking (M&A;) - Natural Resources

Location: Sydney and Perth

Global investment bank with a top-performing natural resources coverage team in Australia. Their advisory work has been at the forefront of some of the largest and most high-profile deals in the sector in recent years. Due to increased activity and a substantial pipeline, the firm wish to appoint an experienced Associate.

The Chance

This is a unique opportunity to join a high performing and one of the most respected investment banking teams. As an Associate you will play an integral role supporting corporate and institutional clients across mining and energy sectors.

Key responsibilities include
The management and execution of M&A;, ECM and/or DCM transactions
Lead and coordinate deal execution processes, working closely with senior bankers and product specialists
Build and review complex financial models, valuations, and transaction analyses
Prepare pitch books, client presentations, and live deal materials
Conduct in-depth industry research and financial due diligence
Attend client meetings and contribute to new business origination




Mentor and develop junior team members as they build their investment banking skill set
Collaborate with coverage and product colleagues across the firm's global network

About You
Minimum 3 years' experience in a front-office investment banking or M&A; advisory role
Top academic results with a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline
Well-versed in M&A;, ECM, and DCM, with a track record of executing complex transactions
Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and valuation skills
Highly driven, diligent, and detail-oriented qualified with the ability to manage multiple work streams under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with senior clients and management
A team-oriented team player, equally comfortable working independently
