About the role

Comuna Cantina is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in our City venue. As the Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of meals. This is a full time role based in Brisbane CBD.

What you'll be doing
Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting
Ensure the kitchen adheres to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Hire, develop and manage the kitchen team
Oversee the training and development of kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to align kitchen and service operations
Implement and monitor systems and procedures to optimise kitchen efficiency
Develop and refine menu items to meet customer demands and dietary requirements
Manage food cost and wastage to maintain profitability

What we're looking for
1 Chef position available
1 year of experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, or equivalent role in the hospitality industry
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure




Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts
