Medical Secretary (specialist - part time)

We are looking for a part time (2 days per week), experienced medical secretary to join our small neurosurgical practice in Newcastle.

As a single surgeon practice, our focus is on providing outstanding, individualised patient care. The role would suit someone who enjoys patient interaction with excellent communication skills, empathy and professionalism.

Specialist medical secretarial experience is essential as this role involves managing the day-to-day financial, billing, and support operations.

Required experience and attributes
Experience as a medical secretary in a specialist practice
Understanding of surgical billing including workers compensation, DVA and public hospital billings
Experience with processing payments including ECLIPSE and HICAPS




Knowledge of medical software (Clinic to Cloud experience desirable but not essential)
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Robust focus on customer service with a particular on focus on empathy and professionalism
Ability to work autonomously with excellent organisational skills

Responsibilities
Processing payments
Surgical billings including ECLIPSE and HICAPS
Co-ordinating theatre lists with private hospitals, anaesthetists and patients
Patient bookings including telehealths
Incoming call flow management
Assistance with letter correction
Providing executive assistant support as required
