Senior Business Development Manager – Commercial Specification Lighting

This client designs and manufactures high-performance architectural lighting solutions for commercial spaces across Australia. Their product range is built around precision engineering, quick toolless installation, and clean design integration.

They need a Senior Business Development Manager who actually wants to get out on the road, open new doors, and bring in current commercial projects. While you will manage existing relationships, the main focus here is hunting for fresh opportunities and winning market share.

The Role

You will be out in the field driving new business, securing specs, and selling directly to engineers, specifiers, contractors, end users, and project wholesalers.

Key responsibilities:
Getting out into the market to identify and win current commercial, corporate, and institutional lighting projects
Building direct relationships across the full pipeline, including engineers, specifiers, electrical contractors, end users, and wholesalers
Running technical product demos, showing decision-makers how reliable and easy these systems are to specify and install




Managing project pipelines from early design concepts right through to tender, contractor purchasing, and final delivery
Maintaining account management duties while keeping your main focus on hunting new revenue streams

What You Bring
Hands-on sales experience in architectural lighting, commercial lighting, or specified building materials
A real drive to hunt for recent business rather than just managing existing accounts
Confidence dealing directly with engineers, contractors, wholesalers, and design specifiers
Ability to read technical plans, lighting layouts, and project specs
Strong communication skills and a direct, practical approach to closing deals

Salary and Benefits

Base salary: $110,000 to $160,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)

Uncapped commission structure tailored to reward new business wins
