Due to increased demand, Hydramech have positions for full-time trade qualified Fitters & Turners in our West Kalgoorlie workshop.

The Role:

Hydramech service and repair hydraulic cylinders & components for underground mining machinery. We have a variety of in-house processes including fitting, manual lathes, borers, milling, and CNC machining. We embrace technology and use quality tooling.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
Carry out fitting duties as required.
Carry out grinding of shapes and metal parts.
Install & align assemblies and subassemblies to equipment as directed.
Operate manual machining equipment in a safe and productive manner.
Competent in interpretation of diagrams, drawings, specifications & plans.
Manufacture and modify components to engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances.
Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, milling, keyway cutting and other machining operations.
Control material and monitor waste.
Carry out production duties in the machine shop as directed.
Mentor / assist apprentices & employees as required.
Communicate equipment and tooling needs to the Leading hand.
Measure parts and create drawings as required.




Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery and performing regular maintenance.
Ability to set a good example to employees with sound technical knowledge, good work ethics, and a high level of conduct in the workplace.

Essential Criteria to be considered for the positions:
A Recognised Trade Certificate or other relevant trade qualification.
Demonstrated experience with fitting & machining in a workshop environment.
Current WA drivers licence.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol test.

These positions are residential to Kalgoorlie, and no fly in / fly out is offered.
