Skilled Nursing is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Mental Health Nurses to join our client's team within a youth custodial healthcare setting in Victoria.

About the Role:

/n

The Mental Health Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting General Practitioners and other clinicians in the management of young people experiencing complex mental health conditions. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You must be willing to work a rotating roster across day, afternoon, and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

/n

Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments in line with AHPRA standards and professional practice guidelines

/n




Deliver treatment, interventions, and ongoing reviews in accordance with care plans and GP mental health plans

/n
Support the admission and transition of new patients into the service

/n
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide high‐quality mental health support

/n
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold best practice standards within a custodial healthcare environment

/n/n

Qualifications:

/n

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

/n
Demonstrated mental health nursing experience

/n
Solid assessment, communication, and crisis management skills

/n
Ability to work effectively within a challenging but rewarding environment

/n
Flexibility to work rotating shifts

/n/n
