Hotel Grand Chancellor
Adelaide
Business Development Manager
You know the feeling. The excitement of landing a new client. The satisfaction of turning a coffee meeting into a long-term partnership. The buzz of seeing occupancy climb because of the relationships you've built.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
At Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide, we're looking for a Business Development Manager who loves getting out from behind the desk, meeting people, building genuine relationships and finding opportunities where others see none.
This isn't about waiting for the phone to ring. It's about opening doors, creating connections and helping businesses discover why Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide should be their first choice.
Whether it's winning a new corporate account, reconnecting with a valued client or uncovering a new market, you'll be trusted to make things happen—and celebrated when you do.
You'll be joining a hotel with a proud reputation, a supportive leadership team and exciting plans for the future. We believe great salespeople don't just sell rooms—they create partnerships, solve problems and deliver experiences that keep clients coming back.
Reporting directly to our General Manager and working closely with our Revenue team, you'll have the autonomy to build your market, bring fresh ideas to the table and make a genuine impact on the hotel's commercial success.
If you're commercially curious, naturally outgoing and get just as excited about building relationships as you do about achieving results, we'd love to meet you.
What you'll be doing
Grow revenue across our corporate, government and leisure accommodation markets.
Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities that drive long-term revenue.
Build strong relationships with corporate clients, travel partners and key industry contacts.
Grow existing accounts while uncovering new opportunities within your portfolio.
Maximise midweek occupancy and help drive overall hotel performance.
Work closely with Revenue and Operations to ensure every client experience delivers on its promise.
Keep your finger on the pulse of the Adelaide market, identifying trends, opportunities and emerging business.
What we're looking for
Experience in business development, hotel sales or corporate account management.
Someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people and building lasting business relationships.
A natural networker who isn't afraid to pick up the phone, knock on a door or ask for the meeting.
Commercially savvy with a proven ability to generate revenue and spot opportunities.
A confident communicator and negotiator who can build trust quickly.
Self-motivated, organised and driven to exceed targets.
A team player who celebrates wins—both your own and everyone else's.
Why join Hotel Grand Chancellor?
Because this is more than another sales role.
It's an opportunity to put your stamp on a well-known Adelaide hotel, work with a supportive leadership team and be part of a business that values initiative, ideas and people who love what they do.
We celebrate success, encourage fresh thinking and believe the best business relationships start with genuine conversations.
At Hotel Grand Chancellor, we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, supported and empowered to succeed. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
Ready to make your next move?
If you're passionate about building relationships, creating opportunities and making an impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today—we'll be reviewing applications as they come in, so don't wait too long. The right opportunity might just be waiting for you.
This version feels less like a traditional HR advert and more like something that will catch the attention of high-performing BDMs. It also focuses on
why someone would want the job
, not just what they'll be doing.
One suggestion: if Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide is currently renovating or launching current offerings, I'd weave that into the opening. Something like "There's never been a better time to join us..." gives candidates a compelling reason to make the move now.
