THE ROLE
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated
Plumber / Wet Fire Technician
to join our team.
The
Plumber / Wet Fire Technician
plays a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality fire protection services across Western Australia by inspecting, testing, servicing, and installing wet fire systems — including fire hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, and associated pipework - in line with AS ****, AS ****, AS ****, and all relevant Australian Standards.
Through hands-on technical work and professional client interaction, this role helps ensure customers remain compliant, prepared, and protected, while upholding the company's values of Safety, Integrity, and Service Excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation, repairs and maintenance of hydrants including below ground pipework.
Installation,
repairs and maintenance of fire hose reels including pipework modification.
Conducting fire yearly overhauls of fire hydrants. Training is provided for the right candidate.
Servicing of fire hydrants and fire hose reels where required. Training provided for the right candidate.
Replacement and repairs of check valves, OS&Y; valves and butterfly valves.
Poly welding underground pipework where required.
Cutting and roll grooving galvanised pipe where required.
Accurately complete service reports, test sheets, job cards, and compliance documentation in a timely manner.
Liaise professionally with clients, building managers, site representatives, and other trades on-site.
Identify and report deficiencies or non-compliant equipment to clients and management.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working order.
Adhere to all WHS policies, site-specific safety requirements, and relevant Australian Standards.
Participate in an on-call roster as required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Customer service focussed:
Committed to providing exceptional service across all channels – written, phone and face to face.
Fire protection experience:
Demonstrated experience working with fire protection systems desirable.
Compliance knowledge:
Understanding of fire safety servicing requirements, including AS**** and relevant Australian Standards desirable.
Communication:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, site representatives, and team members.
Autonomy:
Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Problem solving:
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
Industry experience:
Experience with fire hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, and fire pumps will be highly regarded.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Current Driver's Licence
Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
