Looking for the opportunity to build something from scratch?
We are partnering with a purpose-driven organisation (world‐class research across healthcare, agriculture, environmental science and industry) seeking a Senior Systems Developer to help design and build a brand‐new Information Management System. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity where you'll have a high level of ownership and influence over the solution. Working closely with an experienced and highly supportive Systems Development Manager, you will play a key role in shaping a new platform from the ground up, contributing across requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing and deployment
What you'll bring
Strong Python and Django development experience
Experience building enterprise applications
Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills
Solid SQL and database experience
Git/GitHub experience
Experience with AI tools such as Copilot or Claude
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Exposure to CI/CD and modern development practices
Nice to have
React.js, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
Cloud and containerisation experience
DevOps exposure
R or Perl experience

This role will initially require regular onsite attendance (4 to 5 days per week) as the team embarks on a greenfield platform build. Greater flexibility and hybrid working options will be available as the platform and team mature.
