MARS Recruitment is partnering with a values-driven organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to take ownership of the AP function and lead a small, established team.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also improving processes and supporting their AP team.
The Opportunity Lead and support a team of 4 Accounts Payable Officers Oversee day-to-day AP operations, including invoice processing and payment runs Ensure AP processes are accurate, timely and compliant with internal controls Coordinate payment schedules with Treasury and broader Finance Oversee supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Work closely with internal stakeholders, budget holders and suppliers Identify and implement improvements across AP processes, systems and workflows Provide guidance,
supervision and development to the AP team About You We're looking for an experienced AP professional who has stepped into a supervisory or team leadership capacity and is ready to take ownership of a broader AP function.
You'll bring: Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring an AP team A sound understanding of reconciliations, payment workflows and internal controls Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Confidence working with financial systems and digital approval workflows Solid Excel skills A proactive approach to process improvement Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous, as would experience within not-for-profit or another values-led environment.
