Job description Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance Business Partnering, you will provide high quality financial management, reporting and commercial insights across the full project lifecycle.
Working closely with project managers and key stakeholders, you will help to ensure projects are financially sound, well controlled and delivering against budget, forecast and expected benefits.

Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities include: Support the financial management of projects from inception to completion.
Partner with project managers to develop, track and manage budgets and forecasts.
Monitor project expenditure, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and complete financial information.
Prepare monthly project financial reporting, including budget and forecast variance analysis.
Investigate financial variances, identify risks and opportunities and recommend practical corrective actions.
Maintain accurate project costings including labour, vendor costs and capital versus operating expenditure.
Ensure project costs are accurately captured, allocated and reported.
Assist with the development of business cases, financial modelling and benefits tracking.
Support project capitalisation processes and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Provide financial insights and advice through project governance forums and reporting packs.
Support month-end activities including journals, reconciliations and project reporting.
Work with project managers to strengthen financial understanding and discipline.




Proactively identify financial risks and issues and ensure they are appropriately escalated and managed.
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project financial processes, systems, tools and reporting.
Your Background An experienced finance professional, you enjoy collaborating with non-finance stakeholders and turning financial information into practical business insights.
Ideally you will bring: CPA or CA qualification or studying towards.
Proven experience in management accounting, ideally gained in a corporate or chartered firm environment.
Experience in project accounting including project financial monitoring, expense management and variance analysis.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial procedures and relevant accounting and auditing standards.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive practical improvements.
Advanced Excel skills and solid financial systems capability.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to financial accuracy and control.
The ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high-quality outcomes.
Sound understanding of project financial management principles.
Confident, polished communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work confidently with project managers and other non-financial stakeholders.
A proactive mindset and the ability to challenge processes, identify opportunities and contribute to better ways of working.
A resilient mindset and comfort in having tough conversations with project managers.
