Temp-to-perm chance $45/hr with career growth End-to-end AP AR ownership Tecside are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our client's team, an established manufacturing company based in Western Sydney, on a temp-to-perm basis .
This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, working full-time hours at $45 per hour, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position after approximately 6 months, with a salary of $80,000 + super.
About the role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play an important role within the finance team, taking ownership of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions while supporting the broader accounting and reporting requirements of the business.
Your responsibilities will include: Managing the end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions Daily allocation of customer receipts and debtor management Following up overdue accounts and managing collections Processing supplier invoices and payment runs Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies Bank and credit card reconciliations Assisting with month-end and year-end processes Supporting monthly management accounts and financial reporting Preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation Assisting with BAS/GST and statutory reporting Supporting internal and external audits Assisting with cash flow monitoring Maintaining accurate financial records and internal controls Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting ERP enhancements About you We're looking for an experienced finance professional who takes ownership of their work and has a strong eye for detail.
You'll ideally have: 5+ years' experience in an accounting or finance role Strong AP and AR experience Experience with month-end, journals and reconciliations Experience working with an ERP system Advanced Excel skills A Diploma of Accounting (TAFE or equivalent) — essential A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance would be advantageous Excellent communication and problem-solving skills A proactive, organised and cooperative approach High levels of accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism If you're an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for a role where you can make an impact, take ownership and grow your skills, we'd love to hear from you.
