Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced
Scrum Master / Release Manager with strong SQL skills
to support the delivery and release of complex ICT solutions within a
Tier 1 Australian Government environment based in Canberra
.
This is a hands-on delivery role combining
Agile/Scrum leadership, release management and technical data analysis
. The successful candidate will facilitate Agile delivery across multidisciplinary teams, coordinate releases across multiple environments, manage dependencies and delivery risks, and use SQL to support data analysis, validation, troubleshooting and release activities.
The role requires someone who can work effectively across
business, development, testing, operations and technical teams
, ensuring sprint and release objectives are achieved while maintaining appropriate governance and delivery standards.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years' experience in ICT
, with strong experience across Agile delivery, Scrum Master and/or Release Management roles
Demonstrated experience as a




Scrum Master
, facilitating sprint planning, daily scrums, showcases/reviews and retrospectives
Experience coordinating
release planning, scheduling and deployment activities
across multiple environments
Ability to plan and manage
multiple concurrent releases
, dependencies, milestones and delivery priorities
Robust
SQL skills
, including querying, analysing and validating data to support delivery, testing, troubleshooting and release activities
Experience with Teradata, SQL and Informatica tools is highly desirable
Experience developing and maintaining
delivery backlogs
, effort estimation, forecasting and task tracking
Strong understanding of
Agile, Scrum and SAFe/Release Train practices
, including PI Planning and Scrum of Scrums
Experience identifying and managing
risks, issues, dependencies and impediments
across complex delivery environments
Strong experience with
Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow or equivalent enterprise delivery/release management tools
Ability to coordinate across
Development, QA/Test, Operations, Data, Business and Vendor teams
Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working within
Australian Government or other large, complex enterprise ICT environments
highly desirable
Relevant
Scrum Master / Agile certification
, such as CSM, PSM or SAFe certification, highly desirable
Must hold or be eligible for a Baseline security clearance
Work location: ACT (Canberra), NSW (Sydney) or QLD (Brisbane) – Hybrid (on-site + remote)
