The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Group Program Coordinator/ Coordinators to support the headspace South Melbourne & Malvern teams. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality youth mental health services while supporting a broad portfolio of programs across the centre.
We have the opportunity to offer either one full-time role or 2 x part-time 0.5 EFT roles
Option 1
A Fulltime Max term position spread across both headspace Malvern and South Melbourne locations
Option 2
Part-time.0.5 EFT based in headspace Malvern
Option 3
Part time 0.5 EFT headspace based in South Melbourne
These roles may involve occasional after-hours and off-site work to support program delivery, events, and organisational requirements.
The Group Program Coordinator
is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and supporting the delivery of group programs for young people aged ***** years accessing headspace services.
Working under the general direction of the Manager headspace and within established organisational policies, procedures and program frameworks, the role supports the coordination, implementation and evaluation of group programs that promote mental health, wellbeing, social connection and community participation.
The position works collaboratively with young people, clinicians, peer workers, community engagement staff and external stakeholders to ensure group programs are engaging, inclusive and responsive to the needs of young people.
The Group Program Coordinator contributes to continuous improvement activities through participant feedback,



outcome monitoring and program evaluation and supports opportunities for meaningful youth participation in service delivery.
What You Will Be Doing
Coordinate and deliver youth programs for young people aged ***** years, as well as family and carer programs, ensuring activities are delivered in line with approved frameworks and organisational requirements
Plan and manage program logistics, including scheduling, venue bookings, participant registrations, resources, and promotion to ensure programs run smoothly and effectively
Facilitate engaging and inclusive group activities that support wellbeing, life skills, social connection, and personal development, while ensuring programs are accessible, culturally safe, and responsive to participant needs
Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to incorporate feedback, service data, and community needs into program planning, delivery, and continuous improvement
Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes, maintaining accurate documentation, attendance records, participant feedback, and operational insights to support quality improvement and service effectiveness.
What you will bring (Key Selection Criteria)
Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Mental Health, Community Development or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering programs, activities or groups for young people
Experience facilitating groups within youth, health or community service settings
Demonstrated ability to engage young people using strengths-based, youth-centred and inclusive approaches
Strong organisational, communication and administrative skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with community stakeholders.
Desirable
Understanding of youth mental health and early intervention principles
Experience working in a community health or youth mental health service
Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally safe and inclusive practice
Familiarity with health data management systems such as TrakCare (desirable but not essential)
