The organisation
Yulara Anangu Corporation (YAC) is a newly established, 100% Anangu-led charitable organisation based in Yulara. Created to support Anangu leadership in the management, operation and future of the Yulara township, YAC represents a significant and historic transition toward self-determination and community-led governance.
YAC is building the governance, systems and organisational capability needed to create long-term cultural, social and economic benefits for Anangu, their families and communities. This is a rare opportunity to join the organisation during its establishment phase and contribute to building a robust foundation for future success.

The role
The Governance and Executive Support Officer is a trusted partner to the general manager, chairperson and board, providing executive, governance and administrative support. The role supports board operations, coordinates governance processes, and helps establish the systems and foundations needed for the organisation's ongoing growth and impact.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing high-level executive support to the general manager and chairperson, including managing complex calendars, travel, meeting logistics and confidential information.
Coordinate board and governance activities, preparing agendas, board papers, reports and minutes, while maintaining governance registers, corporate records and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
Support organisational operations and growth, including establishing administrative systems, improving processes,



coordinating organisational projects and undertaking administration and reporting.
Facilitate strong stakeholder relationships by liaising with directors, community members, government, funding partners and other key stakeholders to support effective communication and organisational priorities.
Skills and experience required
This role requires an organised and proactive executive assistant, governance officer or board secretary with experience supporting senior executives and Boards. You will provide governance and secretariat support, coordinate board processes and documentation, manage competing priorities, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
You will also have:
Experience supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, Indigenous Corporations or not-for-profit organisations, with knowledge of ACNC governance requirements.
Skilled in preparing board papers, agendas, meeting minutes and high-quality documentation.
Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently.
Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and written communication capabilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration platforms.
Commitment to respectful engagement with Aboriginal people and communities.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience working in Central Australia or alongside Anangu communities will be highly regarded.
