Our client, Western Care Services (WCS), is a registered NDIS provider delivering personalised in-home support to people with disability. WCS is committed to providing respectful, reliable and person-centred care that supports each participant's individual needs, choices and independence.
Their in-home services support participants with personal care, daily living activities and practical assistance, helping them feel safe, comfortable and supported within their own homes.
Position Purpose
The purpose of the casual PCA is to provide personal care services to clients within the security and comfort of their own homes.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Service Delivery – Personal Care
Assist with showering/bathing
Assist with dressing/grooming
Assist with toileting/continenc_management
Assist with meal preparation
Service Delivery – Other
Assist with socialisation /companionship
Assist with light domestic assistance
Assist with spring cleaning duties
Assist with lifting, moving and positioning of clients into wheelchairs, trolleys, chairs, commodes and beds.
Maintain client confidentiality
Provide accurate and timely feedback
Client condition
Any accidents/incidents
Work availability
Liaise with medical personnel from time to time
Sales and Marketing
Promote Western Care Services wherever appropriate
Promote Western Care Services with a positive attitude
Requirements
KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Skills
Ability to assist clients with their activities of daily living
Ability to apply knowledge and skills within a given work environment to ensure the safest outcomes for both client and staff member
Secure use of aids and appliances including but not limited to; lifting machines, electric beds, ad mobility aids
Interpersonal communications skills both written and oral
Proactive and empathetic service delivery
The ability to work effectively with clients from a range of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Ability to work unsupervised as well within a team environment
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of NDIS, Community Care/Home Based Services
Demonstrated commitment to the needs of people living with disability. This includes awareness of service standards and relevant legislative requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of OH&S; particularly in relation to heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
Preferred Qualification
Relevant Industry Training – minimum Cert 3 in Individualised Support
Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification
NDIS Infection Control and PPE Training
