Barry James Smash Repairs is seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Panel Beater to join our established team in Ballarat.
We are a long-standing automotive smash repair business with a busy, well-equipped workshop and an experienced team.
We are looking for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship and has a sound, well-rounded knowledge of vehicle body repairs.
This is a full-time, ongoing position offering excellent working conditions and the opportunity to join an established and supportive team.
About the Role
The successful applicant will undertake a broad range of automotive body repair work, including:
Assessing vehicle body damage and determining appropriate repair methods
Repairing damaged vehicle body panels and components
Removing and replacing damaged panels
Straightening and aligning vehicle bodies and chassis
Carrying out structural and non-structural repairs
Welding and applying appropriate panel repair techniques
Measuring and realigning vehicle structures to manufacturer specifications
Using workshop equipment and vehicle measuring and alignment systems
Ensuring repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards




Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
Working collaboratively with other members of our workshop and production team
Skills and Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or an equivalent relevant trade qualification
Relevant experience as an Automotive Panel Beater
Sound knowledge of automotive body repair methods and processes
Experience in structural and chassis repairs
Knowledge of Car-O-Liner equipment and systems would be advantageous
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good communication and teamwork skills
A strong work ethic and reliable approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Current driver's licence
