Poachers is looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at our restaurant and weddings venue in the Canberra region.

About the roleWorking closely with our Executive Chef, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including:
Preparing and delivering high-quality food
Assisting with menu preparation, specials and wedding/event menus
Harvesting produce from the Kitchen Garden ahead of service
Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
Ensuring food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards are maintained
Ordering, stock control and minimising food waste
Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
About youWe are looking for someone who:
Has proven experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie
Has robust food preparation and service skills
Has a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved
Is punctual, organised, reliable and calm under pressure
Has excellent attention to detail




Enjoys working as part of a team and is comfortable taking a leadership role when required
Has a genuine passion for quality food and hospitality
Understands food safety and kitchen compliance requirements
Strong verbal communication
MUST have a car / own transport
Experience in events, weddings, functions or high-volume service will be preferred.
